Well, this month started off extremely sad. One of our puppies got sick and within 24 hours he died. It was so unexpected. We woke up, found a vet who had time to see him, they said he didn’t look so good and didn’t think he was going to make it. We drove home and within the hour of being home, he passed. We called the kids out of school to give their final good-byes. We found a good spot under a tree to bury him. Mr. Bean was a great dog. He was Emilio’s dog. He was the alpha of the kids. He was the one who would jump in the pool to get wet. He would be the first to do anything. When he tried it first, the other puppies would follow. His passing was very hard on the entire family. We continue to talk about him and that helps. He is with our first dog, Chops, in doggie heaven. We miss you so much Mr. Bean. Your mom, dad, brother, and sisters miss you. The entire house is not the same without you.
With Mr. Bean passing, Panda (mom), has been trying to get her puppies to cheer up. She has been doing a great job at it.
Jade’s final performance of the year was this month. They showed us different dances as well as got the audience involved. I asked her if she was going to cheer next year and she said she did. It is great to hear that she enjoyed this activity and she was able to maintain her 4.0 GPA and the rest of her activities.
We had a special surprise. My cousin and his family, from Germany, vacationed to the US. One of their stops was Arizona and made Phoenix a stop so they could see us. With work schedules, I wasn’t sure how it would work out, but they were flexible with us and we were all able to meet up with them. It was an experience that we will never forget. I think we would’ve stayed there all night if time permitted. My cousin, Uli, his wife, Tanja, and their son Jannis met with us for dinner. I just love to explore the family tree. I never thought I would meet my family from Germany in person! It was great to talk about the family, different cultures, and so much. It was awesome that everyone got involved with the conversation. In the short time we had, it was hard to say bye. Even in the parking lot, we continued to talk. Thank you Wenzel family.
Happy Mother’s Day! The kids gave me a wallet full of gift cards. When we want to eat, they ask where I want to go. Since I am the one that makes the decision, I tend to say, “I don’t care”. This wallet is the, I don’t care, wallet. The next time they ask, we can choose one of the cards. It was a very cute idea. Emilio had to work, so he wasn’t able to join us for dinner, but he took me out for breakfast. It was nice sitting with him and chatting. We visited Adriana, Jeo’s mom, and wished her a happy Mother’s Day before we went to eat dinner.
