December 2018

Merry Christmas!  Jesus is the reason for this season.  My parents, Matt, and David were able to come down to celebrate this holiday with us.  Daniel had to work and wasn’t able to be there.  We know how that can be.  Emilio worked so we waited for him to arrive home to begin our festivities.  Diego’s work wasn’t open late so we were able to have him home as well.  The puppies had fun running around.

The puppies had their first bath.  They did an awesome job.  They were so cute and curious all at the same time.  They watched as mom and dad go their bath and followed along.

The day before the kids last day of school for winter break, Demario was saying he was getting very bad stomach pains.  After school he was saying it was still very bad.  When he went to the bathroom, we noticed something wasn’t right.  We took him to urgent care who told us they were not sure what the problem was.  They directed us to the emergency room.  Demario was taken back for a lot of testing.  He did very well considering all he was going through.  They gave a lot of iv fluids.  After several hours, they told us they were going to transfer him to the children’s hospital so they could run more tests.  If we waited longer, they would admit him and it would take at least a day for results.  The children’s hospital would be able to get results faster.  After a few more hours of waiting they were ready to send us.  We went to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and were put in a room.  They were already waiting for us so there was no wait.  At this point we were both exhausted.  He was tired from feeling sick and I was tired from the stress of worrying and being up so long.  He was able to give samples.  While we waited for the results, we were both able to get some rest.  A couple hours later, they came to tell us he had e-coli.  Not sure how he got it, but with all the fluids given and because he was able to eat something at the hospital without having issues keeping it down, they let us go.  We were so happy because we did not want to spend Christmas in the hospital or miss the family.

We took the family to see Illumination which is a drive through light display.  It was a lot of fun.  We have the pick up so we all piled up in the back and watched the lights.  Everyone had a great time.
